Because of the intricacies of immigration and public benefits laws, it is often difficult for Community Action Agencies working with immigrants to assist them effectively. Controversial immigration laws in states such as Alabama and Arizona have caused additional confusion for CAAs and other human services providers. During this webinar we outline the effect of immigration status on immigrant clients’ eligibility for benefits and services commonly provided by CAAs, such as Head Start, CSBG and LIHEAP.
